Welcome—I’m Dr. Kaitlyn Kuo, a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Soulidarity Therapy. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are navigating immigration process, trauma, major life transitions, cultural identity, and relationship challenges. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and rooted in evidence-based practices.
I founded Soulidarity Therapy to create the kind of healing space I wish had existed when I needed it most—culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in real understanding. I’m passionate about helping people not just survive, but reclaim joy and agency in their lives.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California and a counseling psychologist in Taiwan with over 15 years of practice experience. I have helped diverse populations with a wide range of issues in a variety of settings.
Being a clinical psychologist allows me to provide in-depth assessments and evaluations to help my clients. I provide immigration psychological evaluations, including hardship waivers, asylum cases, VAWA, U and T visas, and N-648 waivers. As an immigrant myself, I understand the emotional and cultural weight these cases carry. I strive to offer trauma-informed, culturally sensitive evaluations that support both clients and their legal teams. After writing hundreds of reports and attending court numerous times as an expert witness in immigration proceedings, I bring both depth of experience and clinical precision to this highly specialized area.
EMDR:
One of my core specialties is EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful tool I use to help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, and painful life experiences. Whether you’re recovering from early attachment wounds or recent events, EMDR offers a path toward emotional clarity and long-term relief.
Couples Therapy:
I also work extensively with couples—helping partners rebuild trust, improve communication, and rediscover intimacy. Whether you’re recovering from infidelity, navigating parenting stress, or learning to love more intentionally, I guide couples toward more secure, fulfilling connections.
Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or stuck in unhelpful patterns. Together, we build clarity, restore confidence, and create meaningful momentum toward healing and long-term change.
As an immigrant and woman of color, I bring both lived experience and professional insight into the nuances of bicultural identity, intergenerational dynamics, and navigating systems that were not built with everyone in mind. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, deeply respected, and fully empowered to grow.
Over the years, I’ve supported hundreds of individuals, couples, and immigrant families across California, helping them move through burnout, trauma, relationship stress, and major life transitions with tools that actually work.
In my work with couples and families, I draw on both my clinical training and intuition to help each person feel understood at a deeper level. I focus on improving communication and connection—so each relationship can feel safer, stronger, and more authentic.
I offer therapy in English and Mandarin, and I welcome individuals, couples, and families from all cultural backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a lifelong learner and self-professed productivity nerd. I enjoy having deep conversations, mindfulness walks with my cat Meow Meow (yes, he walks!), and volunteer at local rescue centers. I believe healing should empower you not just emotionally, but holistically—so you can live your life with clarity, purpose, and joy.
