Dr. Malia Sanchez

PsyD

I entered the field of psychology with the belief that people can change. My goal is to help clients find the motivation and skills they need to make the positive changes they want to see in their lives. Change can be difficult but when you are willing to put in the work it can open endless possibilities.

I specialize in providing teletherapy for stress and anxiety –I am passionate about helping my clients find new ways to think and take actions around their life experiences. Through our work, you can feel more empowered and effective in all parts of your life. I provide culturally competent and evidence-based care informed by trauma processing, neurobiological, intersectional, and attachment-oriented theories and practices.

My Approach

My clinical work has focused on providing holistic mental health care while being mindful of various cultural considerations such as age, ethnicity, spirituality, gender, disabilities, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. I believe in creating a collaborative and supportive therapeutic alliance with clients. I offer all my clients a compassionate and safe therapeutic environment to assist in guiding them through the challenges and opportunities of life. While my style is interactive and collaborative, I primarily provide an integration of mindfulness, emerging approaches to the treatment of trauma, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and somatic experiencing. I help my clients to release the trauma stored in their bodies.
