DBT is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy developed by Marsha Linehan in the 1970s. DBT therapy is divided into four modules- mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These modules focus on helping individuals find the “dialectic” in their lives, meaning identifying both what they can change as well as what they need to accept. DBT online therapy involves worksheets, skill building, and homework between sessions.
